Important to see the devastating impact of Bay Area water policies

MODESTO, CA – Yesterday it was reported that the California Democratic Party will rally with Nancy Pelosi before heading to the Central Valley on Saturday to help get out the vote for Josh Harder. Congressman Denham would like to invite Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to come to the Valley to see first hand how devastating the California Water Grab will be. The next Speaker of the House will be a Californian, either Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, or Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Leader McCarthy has been to the Central Valley on several occasions to see first hand the devastation the State’s water policies have created and worked with Jeff Denham to secure an Executive Action from President Trump to bring more water to the Valley.

“I welcome Nancy Pelosi to visit the Central Valley and see firsthand how devastating Bay Area water policies are to our region,” said U.S. Representative Jeff Denham. “Water is the lifeblood of our community and it’s important to understand the impact of stealing our water.”

Earlier this week, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support the State Water Grab that will devastate the Valley economy and leave our Ag economy without enough water to operate the farms that feed the country. As noted by the Sacramento Bee, and early version of the resolution specifically called out local farmer Jeff Denham for his roll in fighting the State Water Grab.

An early version of the resolution explicitly says the city must divorce itself from the Trump administration and its congressional allies such as Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, who’s branded the state plan a “water grab.”

In addition to the Executive Action, Congressman Denham’s New WATER Act was signed in to law by President Trump last week. For the first time, federal financing will be available for new water storage in the Valley. Congressman Denham also brought the Secretaries of Interior, Agriculture and EPA Administrator Wheeler to the 10th District to tour infrastructure and hear from local farmers on the devastating impact of the State Water Grab and the lack of water storage in California.

Previous reporting has indicated that thousands of San Francisco voters have spent time volunteering for Josh Harder in addition to the over $3 million from the Bay Area has gone to fuel Josh Harder’s campaign. More than $1 million alone has come just from San Francisco leaving the impression that Nancy Pelosi’s constituents are very interested in the outcome of the Congressional race in the 10th District.

“With millions of dollars and thousands of volunteer hours, Nancy Pelosi’s constituents are clearly concerned about how Valley residents are voting,” added Campaign Manager Josh Whitfield. “We’d welcome her to join her constituents in visiting the Valley.”
