HARDER SKIPS DEBATE, DENHAM HOLDS TOWNHALL FORUM INSTEAD

MODESTO, CA – Congressman Jeff Denham hosted a town hall forum last night at The House Church in Modesto after challenger Josh Harder failed to show up for the scheduled debate. Upon arriving, the Denham Campaign was told Mr. Harder did not reject or communicate with the debate host, so Mr. Denham decided to address the assembled crowd alone.

“I am always happy to answer questions that are important to our constituents,” said Jeff Denham “Obviously the State’s disastrous Water Grab is on the top of everyone’s mind, but I thought we had a good discussion on a wide range of issues.”

The event was open to the public, and everyone who arrived was allowed into the Forum which had over 150 attendees according to the host site. The event lasted over an hour and questions were asked on Healthcare, Public Safety, and Faith-Based issues as initially advertised, but the Congressman also answered questions on, infrastructure, water, veterans issues, immigration, agriculture, tax reform, race relations and other social issues.

“I think my opponent missed a big opportunity last night and he has another chance at the San Joaquin County Farm Bureau debate next week,” added Jeff Denham. “I’ll be participating in the Modesto Bee event as well. I assume Harder is attending that debate since the Bee has already endorsed him, but who knows?  I look forward to meeting him.”
