DENHAM ADDRESSES LATINO COMMUNITY ROUND TABLE IN TOWNHALL STYLE FORUM
MODESTO CA, Congressman Jeff Denham was invited to address the Latino Community Round Table in a townhall style forum today at the Red Event Center in Modesto. During the one-hour event, the Congressman answered questions from the group on immigration, agriculture, water, healthcare, opioid crisis, and other local issues.
“The Latino Community Roundtable is an important part of our local community and I have been coming here for years. Having an open and honest dialogue is important to our community” said Jeff Denham. “I am committed to fighting the State water grab, providing for our Veterans, and fixing our broken immigration system.”
Congressman Denham frequently does events like this. CNN recently covered the townhall event in Waterford and members of the media often accompany Congressman Denham at the many meet and greets he holds. The Denham campaign has also accepted debate invitations from the Modesto Bee, San Joaquin County Farm Bureau, and the House Church. Denham accepted an invitation from the Modesto Rotary which was cancelled after Harder backed out.
Harder supporters organized a small protest outside of the LCR forum where they shouted insults and racial remarks about Congressman Denham’s family.
“It’s sad that Mr. Harder’s supporters would engage in this type of rhetoric that only fuels this escalating environment of hostility,” said Josh Whitfield – Denham’s Campaign Manager. “Our opponent continues to only be interested in protests and disruption. He continues to ally himself with groups who are in the disruption business. Our campaign is interested in events that allow an open honest discussion on issues and ideas that effect all of us.”
