Denham_Pic_NewsletterToday Congressman Denham met with his Hispanic Advisory Council to discuss issues affecting the Central Valley and ways to increase Hispanic participation in elections right here in the 10th Congressional District.

Members of the Committee include: Guillermo Ochoa, Frank Johnson, Bill Moreno, Vladimir Rodriguez, Ponciano Madrigal, Tony Aguilar, Oscar Cabello. They represent business owners and community leaders and others who are concerned about creating opportunity in the Valley.

Participating in the discussion were the Republican National Committee’s Hispanic Initiatives State Director, Suzette Martinez and California Republican Party Hispanic Initiatives Field Representative, Jon Rodriguez.

A clear theme of the meeting was that the issues impacting Hispanic families in the District are the same that affect so many across the Valley. A lack of jobs, a need for better education and a solution to the water crisis are at the top of the agenda.

“I am grateful for the support of so many community leaders from across the District,” said Congressman Denham “Working together we can create opportunity for all Valley residents to find a job and get a good education.”

Guillermo Ochoa the Chair of the Advisory Committee stated “Congressman Denham has been a strong voice for the Valley since he was elected to Congress and been very engaged with the Hispanic community. I am glad that we had the chance to continue the discussion today and am confident that Hispanic voters will see that on the key issues he shares our values.”

“The Republican Party has been diligently working to strengthen our ties with Hispanic Republicans from across the nation, in California and here in the 10th Congressional District,” said California State Director of Hispanic Initiatives, Suzette Martinez. “Today’s Hispanic Advisory Council meeting served as an important opportunity for local Republican, Hispanic leaders to discuss their top priorities with Congressman Denham and the Republican Party.”

Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) is a valley farmer, small businessman and veteran. The 10th Congressional District includes all of Stanislaus County and the southern portion of San Joaquin County.
